Its spring and now is the time to update and freshens up your bedroom. Here are some simple bedroom ideas to get a new look!

1. Paint your walls-Paint is the easiest way to get a clean new look for your bedroom. New colors that are popular are the mineral blues. This color gives a calming, spa feeling. Paint 3 walls with a lighter color and paint the wall behind darker for a dramatic effect.

2. Clear out dusty old accessories and dated lamps. Remove old blinds and dated window treatments.Take down old pictures. They may be reused with new matting's and frames.

3. Purchase new bedding. Decide on a budget. If you chose to go for exceptional quality, custom bedding is the ticket. But you need a designer for that(.hint, hint) So if you want something on a budget, department stores, Target, TJ Maxx are good alternatives. I like to mix and match for a custom look.

4. Combine different textures in fabrics, bedding, window treatments, and accessories. All smooth surfaces are boring and give no interest or depth.

5. Good lighting is essential. Lamps are great for reading, but have softer lights, like small crystal chandeliers or sconces.

6. I never recommend a tv in a bedroom. It is a personal choice, but I think it is better without one.Go for paintings that have positive feelings.With all the stress we have in our lives, I feel the bedroom should be as stress free as possible.
