this is probable the most frequently asked question. The least expensive way to update your home is with paint! This brightens and freshens up a room at a great price.

The mistake that people make most often is in the scale an proportion of their furniture. There is either too much, to large or too small of scale in furniture. Proper floor planning and having an understanding of scale and proportion are a must!
My husband and I don't agree on decorating. Can you help?
It is not unusual for couples not to agree on design. I spend time listening to what each client has to say, what they love, don't like and what doesn't matter. I incorporate some of both likes and try to get them to compromise on things that don't matter. I come up with a plan that both the clients love.
Can I Mix Different Furniture Styles?
Yes, you can mix different styles. The best way for a beginner to do this is through coordinating fabrics. For example, you found 2 different chairs, and a contemporary sofa. Recover them in fabrics like leather for the sofa, stripes for one chair and paisley for the other. Do one main color and use two more for accents. Example of this is Brown as a main color and russet and golds as accents. Of course you can mix and match styles of fabrics. Just don't have 5 or 6 . It can get confusing.
Should I Paint Before I Choose Furniture?
Furniture should be chosen before you choose paint. It is much easier to match paint to furniture then furniture to paint.
Are There Any Rules About Lighting?
A room should have five to seven sources of light. Natural light is considered one source. To create an inviting warm space, it is extremely important to have the proper amount of light. I know that the new florescent bulbs are popular , but I am not a big fan of the cold light they give off. I prefer a softer glow.
