Staging Your Home Is the Success To Selling Your Home
When selling your home, staging can make all the difference in whether the house sells quickly or sometimes at all. this is about putting your best foot forward. The hardest part of performing this task correctly is being unemotional and having a discerning eye. When it comes to you own home it can be hard to decide what looks good or bad. Set a budget for your staging. All clutter must be removed. What you or I think clutter is may vary, so go with the "less is more" approach. Too much or too little furniture is a problem. Over sized or undersized furniture can kill the sale. You want to create an openness without looking empty. Survey the rooms with a critical eye. Fresh neutral colored paint will brighten and freshen up the space. Remove any damaged furniture, draperies, blinds, shades, etc. Replace old or worn carpet. Clean out storage spaces and garages. Rent a storage space for any overflow and to create openness. If your own furniture is too old, too large or small, consider renting appropriate sizes and styles. Rooms should be used for the purpose they were made. Example: Dining rooms should be dining rooms, not a storage area. An extra bedroom should not just be a large toy room but a bedroom! If your kitchen is dated there are many things you can do to update besides a major remodel. Kitchens and baths generally are what sell a home and money invested in these rooms generally returns 100% of the money invested. Try painting or resurface cabinets, add new counter tops. Granite really spiffs up the space, and add new appliances if your budget permits. There are good deals to be had for any of these, so it is definitely worth doing.
